The band were delighted to meet up socially distanced outside for an outdoor music session. The rain stayed off and we really enjoyed getting back into the swing of playing together in
person again
Saturday 30th April 2015
En Route Consett to Ambleside
After a lovely drive across Northumberland from Co. Durham, the band played at the Lily Bar in the picturesque town of Ambleside in the Lake District.
Friday 29th May 2015
Our very first outing to the North of England kicked off with an absolutely superb gig at The Turf Bar, 25/27 Front Street, Consett, Co. Durham. The audience, and proprietors Juliette and Ste, made us feel so welcome. We hope to be back in 2016.
Saturday 25th April 2015 ~ The Bon Accord, North Street, Glasgow
Great gig at the Bon Accord, Glasgow. Lots of people were up dancing.
Sunday 18th January 2015
The band went along to the folk session in the Black Bitch in Linlithgow. What a really great bunch of people.
Wednesday 7th January 2015
A return to Dunfermline Folk Club at the Thistle Tavern. It was great to meet up again with Gifford Lind and the other regulars. Hope they ask us back before too long.
Saturday 6th December 2014
The band played at our favourite Glasgow pub venue - the Bon Accord on North Street - a pretty lively night with all the office Xmas parties in full swing!
Sunday 30th November 2014
A very busy day for the band! Played at CC Music on Otago Street, Glasgow at their afternoon accoustic music showcase. We then did a live broadcast on Celtic Music Radio's Mary Kathleen Burke show in the evening, subsequently hearing from listeners as far away as Australia! We accompanied Mary Kathleen to the session at Dram on Woodlands Road, Glasgow - the best folk session in Glasgow by a country mile. Very effectively run by Phil Pletherbridge. What we particularly like about the Dram session is it's not 'all fiddles'! Highly recommended to locals and tourists to our great City. Everyone receives a warm welcome and no pressure if you prefer to just listen.
Friday 28th November 2014
Popped in to Partick Folk Club, Glasgow and played a few numbers. Nice wee club.
Wednesday 8th October 2014
Performed a charity gig for Mary's Meals at the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Church, Queens Cross, Glasgow.
Thursday 11th September 2014
Had a fantastic gig at the Star & Garter in Linlithgow. Can't wait to go back!
Saturday 30th August 2014
We appeared at the Shieldbank Coffe Shop in Fife.
Tuesday 26th August 2014
The band's first 'proper' gig at the famous Star Folk Club in the Admiral Bar, Waterloo Street, Glasgow. Our new Bose L1 Model II sound system stood us in good stead, and we were enthusiastically received by a lovely audience who joined in with some of our numbers. This was something of a 'landmark' gig for the band, as we had been keen to play this prestigious venue for some years. A good one to have tucked under our belt and with any luck perhaps they'll ask us back at some time in the future. Fingers crossed!
Saturday 9th August 2014
En route back to Glasgow, we had a fantastic night at the MacDonald Hotel & Cabins, Kinlochleven - despite the midgies. One of the audience was kind enough to come up onstage and spray the band members with 'Skin So Soft' -- which actually did the trick!
Friday 8th August 2014
A lovely drive up North to the beautiful town of Ullapool on the first leg of our mini tour of the Highlands where we performed at the Argyll Hotel. Everyone had a fantastic time. Hopefully we'll be back next year.
Thursday 17th July 2014
The band played at a private function in the Waterside Inn, Barrhead - a fundraiser to send some children to America.
Saturday 7th June 2014
An eventful day! Played at the F.O.R.K. (Friends Of the River Kelvin) Gala at the Ha'penny Bridge, Kelvin Walkway and the rain just kept on coming! They had a fantastic sound person in Luigi, however, so the few brave souls who stood under the shelter of the trees to listen were rewarded by a good show by the several acts who appeared.
Hugh getting rained upon!
Then, in the evening, we played at the Bon Accord on North Street, Glasgow. This was a really special gig as we were 'Christening' our brand new Bose L1 Model II p.a. system. The sound was just awesome and the place was jumping as lots of people were up dancing to our lively second half set. This gem of a pub is our favourite gig in Glasgow, and we look forward to returning before the end of 2014.
Sunday 1st June 2014
Typically rainy day, but it didn't spoil our enjoyment performing at the Gibson Street Gala in Glasgow's West End. The streets were thronged with crowds of people who came along to sample the food & drink and listen to the various stage acts. The fabulous sound system meant we could be heard at the other end of the street and, so we're reliably informed, as far away as Kelvingrove Subway station. Hopefully we'll be asked back next year when, fingers crossed, we'll be back at full strength as our singer Emma had to be in Ireland this weekend.
Saturday 18th May 2014
Lovely day performing at Sean's first holy communion celebration at the Radisson Blu hotel. Very well organised and a beautiful buffet meal.
Friday 16th May 2014
The band's first visit to the Star & Garter in Linlithgow proved lively. Plenty people up dancing!
Saturday 15th March 2014
Really enjoyed collaborating with Martin Jones at the Lentfest folk night at St. Helen's church hall, Shawlands, Glasgow.
Monday 10th March 2014
Fantastic gig at Stirling Folk Club where we were really pleased at how our new material went down with the audience. This is such a GREAT club! More than ably supported by Margaret & Gavin (the Scottish Ferrals).
Saturday 8th March
The Craigdarroch Arms Hotel, Moniaive were very welcoming as usual and we look forward to returning later in the year.
2nd January 2014
Looking back over the past year one of the best things to have happened to the band was recruiting our newest member - bass player Stevie Mason - who has proved a real find. With a history of playing in cover bands, Stevie has taken to the world of Celtic music like the proverbial duck to water, and his positivity and enthusiasm has been like a breath of fresh air.
Performing at the Kibble Palace in Glasgow's Botanic Gardens has become something of a regular feature in our timetable, having performed there three times during 2013. Thanks to the wonderful staff for their support. We look forward to returning to do more shows there over the coming months.
Watch this space for more band pics. As a five-piece it isn't always easy to organise photoshoots, but we hope to be able to get together with our band photographer Rahina over the next couple of months.
The band had a storming gig at the Craidarroch Arms Hotel, Moniaive and will be returning there very soon for another gig and also to perform at the folk festival later in the year.
We're booked to play Irvine folk club on the 5th February 2014 and a mini tour of Donegal over the Easter holiday.

On Friday the Sun God shone on Arran and we took a leisurely stroll from Lamlash , over Dun Finn with mandolin , fiddle and Zoe(The border terrier), to the session in the Ormidale in Brodick.
